Little girls seem to love writing, colouring, drawing. They are often happier than their brothers to sit and concentrate for ages on a detailed picture, copying the words on a box of chocolates or a toy, writing letters and making cards.

Our ideas leaflets have lots of things to try. Please bear with us while we add them to the site and ask for more information if you're struggling for ideas in the meantime.

And if your daughter isn't keen to read or write don't worry! She's only a child. Let her lead the way and when she's ready be there to support her.
